Job summary

Advertising.com requires a Sales Manager for the generation and development of both direct and agency sales in the North of England.  The role places emphasis on ability to win new business and build a successful northern team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work with the existing Northern agencies to ensure we have good coverage of their planners and buyers to drive Advertising.com’s current book of business.
  • To identify and educate agencies who do not currently work with Advertising.com to ensure we are included on RFPs.
  • To win new business from direct clients based in this region.
  • To prove the concept of a Manchester based office so that a full sales team can be established.

Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of sales and online advertising/Internet media.
  • Ability to work in a highly competitive sales environment.
  • Confident negotiator and ability to ‘close the deal’.
  • A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities.
  • A positive attitude to dealing with people.
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills.
  • Capable of hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks.
  • Proven track record of providing consultancy sales.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC applications and Internet.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Win-win sales philosophy.
  • Experience in Strategic Selling Consultation principles.
  • Knowledge and contacts within the UK interactive marketplace, both agency and direct.
  • A sound understanding of the UK and European online marketing sector.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 7 years sales experience, at least 2-3 in New Media
  • 2 - 3 years management experience.

This position is based out of Manchester and will require regular visits to our London office; especially during the training period.
