Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a very fast-growing new media organization. Advertising.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL Time Warner, the world’s largest media group.
The Sales team is responsible for driving the business forward by generation and development of both direct and agency sales. The role places emphasis on ability to win new business and is suited to people who are ‘sales hungry’ and who can exploit their exceptional sales skills with effective and successful results.
The role will also entail maintaining relationships with established clients, attending meetings, devising strategies and writing proposals. A crucial element of this position will be generating new business with both existing and potential clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and lively team and a thriving international company.
Duties and responsibilities
- Management of key accounts with NL (and global) publishers.
- Provide high-level direct client contact with advertising agencies.
- Cultivate relationships at the highest levels of top agencies, large on-line advertisers and FTSE 1000 companies.
- Supervise proper delivery of advertising campaigns in accordance with goals and objectives of the client.
- Drive revenue through long-term, high contacts.
- Develop new markets as needed.
- Responsible for selling new, high-end, and complex products and multi-platform packages.
- Consult with clients on their marketing needs and creativity design solution packages.
- Provide feedback on the rest of the organisation on how to better satisfy client needs.
Required skills and abilities
- Thorough knowledge of sales and advertising/internet media.
- Ability to work in a highly competitive sales environment.
- Confident negotiator and ability to ‘close the deal’.
- A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities.
- A positive attitude to dealing with people.
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills.
- Capable of hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.
- Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks.
- Proven track record of providing consultancy sales.
- Thorough knowledge of PC applications and Internet.
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
Desired Characteristics:
- Win-win sales philosophy.
- Experience in Strategic Selling Consultation principles.
- Knowledge and contacts within the UK interactive marketplace, both agency and direct.
- A sound understanding of the Dutch ‘online’ marketing sector.
Education and/or experience
- 1 years experience in (online media) sales.
- Ability to work in a highly competitive, fast paced work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Experience with high level sales of complex product offerings.
- Or relevant combination of education and experience.
